Description: 

SP TECH Ultrasonics sonicators are high-performance liquid processor, which are simple and safe to operate. In accordance on your raw material, process capacities and output target, SP TECH offers you the most suitable ultrasonic sonicator. SP TECH Ultrasonics extractors can be used for batch and continuous inline extraction and can be used in combination with any solvent. Various accessories such as sonotrodes (probes) of various sizes and shapes, booster horns, flow cells with various volumes and geometries, pluggable temperature and pressure sensors and many other gadgets are available to assemble the ideal ultrasonic setup for your extraction process. Due to the precise control over amplitude, sonication time and duty cycles, optimum process results such as superior yield and highest extract quality can be achieved. SP TECH Ultrasonics’ industrial ultrasonic processors can deliver very high amplitudes. Amplitudes of up to 100µm can be easily continuously run. For even higher amplitudes, customized ultrasonic sonotrodes are available.

Applications: 

The ultrasonic sonicator effects on biological and microbiological systems are manifold: Dispersing & Homogenizing, cell and tissue lysis (e.g. bacteria, yeast, viruses, algae…) & extraction of intracellular materials such as proteins, ribosomes, RNA, lipids, peptides…, plant cell transformation.

Also can be used in the food, nutritional supplement and pharmaceutical industry to release bioactive compounds such as vitamins, polyphenols, polysaccharides, cannabinoids and other phytochemicals from botanicals. 


Advantages:

Ultrasonic homogenizers work well when your sample consists primarily of liquids or small particles in liquids and you need thorough homogenization.

These measures include reducing particle size, destroying cells, forming emulsions and dispersing of nanoparticles or other small particles.


Ultrasonic homogenizers are not suitable for applications where the sample is mostly solid and the buffer is not immersed in liquid.

For example, homogenization of large, tough tissue samples is usually possible only if the tissue is dipped prior to treatment.




How to select probes:

Certain applications, such as processing nanoparticles, often require longer processing times. Using larger probes will speed up processing and larger probes will not corrode as quickly as smaller probes.


Also, smaller probes wear out faster and require more frequent replacement. Using a larger system will eventually reduce costs over time as you consider the cost of replacing multiple probes.


Converter Cooling:

Prolonged sonication can cause heat to transfer up the probe to the transducer. Overheating can severely damage the transducer and ultrasound system. Samples that require continuous processing for more than 15 minutes must be air-cooled with the converter. Converter cooling is available for SPS20-1000/2000/3000 models.
